How BCAC can help you during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) Outbreak:

  1. Fuel Assistance can assist with home heating bills. The income eligibility is determined by the last 30 days of income. If you were recently laid off, or experience a business slow down – Apply now!!  Staff are taking applications now and will ask for proof of income in 30 days. The intake process has been extended to May 29! Please note that billing for usage payments remains November 1-April 30.

For example a single person earning less than $3,071 for the last 30 days will qualify for this benefit. Even if they have been current with their utility payments, BCAC will pay the utility company which will generate a credit which can be utilized to reduce their bills for the next several months. An additional economic benefit is that if someone qualifies for fuel assistance, their electric bill will be reduced by 27-36% for the whole year moving forward!
